Know more
PLA stands for Polylactic acid,a plant-based polyester. It is one of the most used materials in FDM 3D printing because of its ease of print and low price. It can be used in detailed models as well in large parts since PLA is not prone to significant warping, unlike other filaments. Has high rigidity, however a low impact resistance breaking through the layers or like shards upon impact, which makes it unsuitable for technical parts and outdoor. It doesn’t resist high temperatures, getting soft at temperatures above 60ºC and degrades under UV light.Although PLA is more environmentally friendly than other plastics because of its plant-based origin it has limited biodegradability needing specialized composting facilities to be biodegradable.

PETG carbon fiber

PLA

PETG reinforced with carbon fiber has improved mechanical properties with being more stiff, 10% more impact resistant and higher heat deflection (85ºC) when compared with normal PETG.It has a matte surface finish making the layer lines almost imperceptible.
